Back in the days when it was a party in your room at your parents' house because you didn't have the cash to move out yet. Days and late nights of "Do you like ___ ?" or "Have you heard of ___ ?" and "You gotta play that song next." When parents were out of town, you could make it loud. You'd get drunk on whatever was good, pass out on the floor with the record still playing, then wake up to go home whenever your pounding head couldn't take the floor as a pillow anymore. Then the next time would be at your friend's place, couple people over, hanging in their room, and they'd have a guitar. Someone would pick it up and noodle a little before someone put a song on. "Sick! I think I know those chords."

Things are starting to loosen up a little bit, but all this covid shit and restrictions had me thinking back to what it was like when we had to be confined to our rooms with friends to actually feel like we could do what we wanted. We'd try to time it so that our parents were out of the house and we could play it loud. Then going onto college, we'd have rooms for private spaces either in shared apartments or dorms where we'd have to hide shit from RA's. It was a totally different motive because we always wanted to keep to our rooms for that private space. It was in our rooms that music sessions could be the closest to never ending. And these tracks felt right to keep the party going.
